On Monday, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will inaugurate the 22nd annual conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone-III in Kohima. This two-day event will see participation from presiding officers and legislators from eight northeastern states.

The region also aims to improve parliamentary processes and make them more accessible and inclusive through greater use of technology, as evidenced by the implementation of the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA), digitization programs, and active public participation.
